Jess R. Howard was born in Gunnison, Coloado, a small ranching based community in Southwestern Colorado. From a young age she spent countless miles in the saddle with her father in the same valley her family homesteaded and the range where they raised beef cattle. At the age of 18 she left the valley to explore the world, leading her to places such as Europe, Argentina, Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska- just to name a few. Each new place she lived the community of people & animals she met has left a lasting impact on her, which can be seen vibrantly in her progression as an artist.

Currently, she is practicing mediums such as pen, watercolor, graphite, acrylics and weaving mohair on a loom. Between her paintings and functional tack she hopes to enhance the love and appreciation of horses and agriculture she has been so deeply connected to throughout her entire life.

While her free and adventurous spirit will continue to take her to new and beautiful places all around the world, her heart is a constant reminder of her roots; helping to keep her grounded along the way.

You can read about some of her most memorable stories in her blog.
